Palm trio

  1. They are all pretty especially with the sun dancing on them. We have the berry ones in our yard.

    1. There are sure lots of palms up north. I got quite sick of them in the end. I said to my hubbie I would never put a palm in my garden, then I remembered we already had one!! A very tall skinny thing so high up and in a jungle corner of my garden I have not even noticed if it gets fruit.

Those berry ones are very attractive. I think my favourite however is the one with greyish leaves like in the bottom shot, just because it stands out from the rest.

  2. Just caught up on the trip, it has brought back many wonderful memories of a family road trip when younger.
Great photos telling a wonderful story.

    1. I did a trip up there with my parents when I was 15. I remember very little of the detail of that trip so everything from this one was new.

Windy August

Tumbleweed It was August (known to be a windy month of the year) and it was blowing a gale.  Tumbleweeds hurtled across our path, pressed forward by the busy wind. While I was photographing the tumbleweed, I braved the icy blast to find a few more tiny flowers and fruits by the roadside.

Big sky country 3

The Pinnacles, Broken Hill Clear blue sky is very dull!  But there is something of interest in the image.  These odd shaped mountains appear on the skyline just outside the city. I had planned otherwise for my closing sky today.  On a hill outside town there are wonderful sandstone sculptures which I saw the last time I was here. I planned to photograph them against the setting sun but we left our run too late, so you don’t get to see them until our return journey.
