To Cape Tribulation


We're taking the narrow winding road to Cape Tribulation (that's where Captain Cook struck the reef and made a hole in the bottom of his boat).  Yes it's rainforest and the ferry ride to cross the river an interesting part of the trip.  We've set off early to avoid queuing at the ferry and following tourist buses along the winding road.

      The road is narrow and has huge speed bumps on it in places but is reasonable driving.

The end

I retire from the workforce this week and to celebrate have decided to retire my current blogs and start afresh with a single consolidated blog -  My Bright Field  - to record the delights of my new life adventure. Coolibah?

Is that a Coolibah tree beside the abandoned house? Every Australian knows about Coolibah trees because the bush ballad Waltzing Matilda is nigh on our unoffical national anthem but most of us live nowhere near the inland where they grow.
