Isabella

There was no sign of a town past or present at Isabella.  There was a cluster of farm houses, one with this nice garden plus some derelict farm buildings.

I've added Isabella as a locality over at 100 towns.    I am getting a little worried.  I am only up to #84 and the 'Still to go' list is getting shorter. Even though there are 38 names on it I think most of them are localities.  Maybe we are not going to get to 100 towns after all.  Also we are running out of weeks left in the year to go find what's there.

  1. Why must there be a time limit. Just recording 100 towns/localities is a great achievement.

    1. With 37 localities we have actually visited 120 dots on the map thus far.

  2. But you are not counting the 'localities' are you, Joan? Just the towns. I did not realise you have a calendar-year time-frame to this search. Well maybe I DID realise, but did not remember. Remembering is getting more quixotic by the week.

Anyways, hopefully I am back in my visiting schedule, so will catch up with your 'over there' list of 100 Towns. I agree that it is such an achievement.

Have you seen Jo's collection of 'Pillar Boxes'? Akin to your 'Royal' collection.

    1. No I have not been counting localities but as per tonights post I am revising some of these and "promoting them to towns because they were once towns that have since died -- what I call "relic towns". A true locality has never been a town, maybe a place where people gathered, perhaps a hall or church or a junction in the road.

Yes I have been seeing Jo's Pillar Box collection grow.

The end

I retire from the workforce this week and to celebrate have decided to retire my current blogs and start afresh with a single consolidated blog - My Bright Field - to record the delights of my new life adventure.
If you are interested follow me over there.  I will still be Sweet Wayfaring and collecting Royal Hotels.  The delights I discover along the way will appear together with my gardens and towns where I live.
