Is that a Coolibah tree beside the abandoned house? Every Australian knows about Coolibah trees because the bush ballad Waltzing Matilda is nigh on our unoffical national anthem but most of us live nowhere near the inland where they grow. Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong, Under the shade of a Coolibah tree, And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled, You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me. Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda, You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me, And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me.

I do :) Mainly for my pretty dresses.
ReplyDeleteMy jewellery was on this stand and I had the privilege of hanging the knitted section. There are some truly talented ladies out here! I would love to learn how to knit and crotchet. I might ask one of them for private lessons. These are great photos. x
Yes, yes, yes. I love them for the slippery fabrics so that the shirt, tops and dresses don't slide off. I also like the big fat wooly ones for good tops so you don't get the hanger indentation on the shoulders so that when you are wearing it it looks like you are sprouting wings.
ReplyDeleteOMG - yes!
ReplyDeleteCrocheted coathangers are all the rage with the indie hipsters at the moment.
I regularly come across them on the internets.
Are you gunna do some?
Need some help?

I still have some that my Nana made for me before she died 10 years ago.
Well it just goes to show that my haphazard wardrobe is not typical. Me covered hangers annoyed me and I got rid of them.
ReplyDeleteLetty I love those candy box coloured hangers ... but no I won't be making any.
