Cabin


Well the cabin is cosy but quite comfortable.  This is going to convert into bunks for our overnight sleep.

Derek, the guy you saw welcoming us at the door, encouraged us to go to the lounge which he assured us we would find very pleasant.  And he was right.  Comfortable chairs with good views on both sides whereas the cabin only has a view on one side.  We settled in there for the trip.

Red Sleeper doesn't have an ensuite but doesn't bother us at all. The shared toilets and showers are very spacious.

    I've only once taken an overnight train journey, didn't like it much, but your journey sounds very nice.

    Our ensuite was ridiculously small, you sound like it was a better choice.

      I think it might have been Diane. Perhaps during the peak season shared facilities might attract a queue and get grotty but not during the off times.

Big sky country 3

The Pinnacles, Broken Hill Clear blue sky is very dull!  But there is something of interest in the image.  These odd shaped mountains appear on the skyline just outside the city. I had planned otherwise for my closing sky today.  On a hill outside town there are wonderful sandstone sculptures which I saw the last time I was here. I planned to photograph them against the setting sun but we left our run too late, so you don’t get to see them until our return journey.
