Canary Street Clandulla 2 of 7


That's our next door neighbour, about to build his house.  The beautiful mountains are our neighbour over the back fence and below is what it looks like across the road from our front fence.  It's the town oval which the local kids use as motor bike circuit.  I've not seen it used for anything else.

      Tranquil describes it well. For some reason am I always taken by surprise by the tranquility. It is so different from my work-a-day world in the mountains which by city standards is already very tranquil.

Larras Lee

We passed through Bakers Swamp without noticing anything.  Then reached our last dot on the map for this trip - Larras Lee and saw this.  The roadside monument says: In Memory of  WILLIAM LEE  (1794 - 1870)  of "Larras Lake"  a pioneer of the sheep  and cattle industry  and first member for  Roxburgh under responsible  government (1856 - 1859).  This stone was erected  by his descendants.  --- 1938 --- This is a repost from a few days ago.
