Is that a Coolibah tree beside the abandoned house? Every Australian knows about Coolibah trees because the bush ballad Waltzing Matilda is nigh on our unoffical national anthem but most of us live nowhere near the inland where they grow. Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong, Under the shade of a Coolibah tree, And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled, You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me. Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda, You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me, And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me.
"To muse, to creep, to halt at will, to gaze ... such sweet wayfaring"
William Wordsworth
Yes the beach does. Love how you included leaving your shoes at the door.
ReplyDeleteGreat Fraser island photos too.
Not out shoes. Someone forgot to take their's home :-)
DeleteThat last photo reminds me of an oil painting.
ReplyDeleteI thought that too. The light was getting just right for good photos. Hence a few more shots tomorrow.
DeleteBeautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteGreetings, RW & SK
Greetings to you to. I see you are newcomer to this space.
DeleteAmazing how brush turkeys seem so exotic when you don't normally see them - but to the locals they're a pest!
ReplyDeleteYes they can be a nuisance but I still like them.
DeleteThe bottom shot is so beautiful and what a fantastic bird on top!
ReplyDeleteYes it is a lovely bird but they show no fear of humans and can be quite brazen ... they used to invade my in-laws kitchen regularly. The other thing they do is scratch up big piles of leaf litter to make their nest. In the suburbs that can be a nuisance when they scape up all the garden mulch.
DeleteBut they don't live in my area so I can view them fondly.
I saw a bush turkey crossing the main street of Noosa!
ReplyDeleteAt the zebra crossing!
Hilarious.
