Is that a Coolibah tree beside the abandoned house? Every Australian knows about Coolibah trees because the bush ballad Waltzing Matilda is nigh on our unoffical national anthem but most of us live nowhere near the inland where they grow. Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong, Under the shade of a Coolibah tree, And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled, You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me. Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda, You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me, And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me.
"To muse, to creep, to halt at will, to gaze ... such sweet wayfaring"
William Wordsworth
I do like the soft undulations in this shot Joan, and the sun gently caressing the top of the far hill. Serenity and definitely solitude!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy "plotted and pieced" landscape as well as undulating landscape so this one hits two buttons as well as an abandoned building!
DeleteI've seen lots of abandoned buildings but for some reason this one looks so lonely and sad.
ReplyDeleteI am not quite sure if it is sad or simply solitary.
DeleteHow lovely to see a green land-scape Joan and what a pity that little cottage is abandoned .... imagine the views from the kitchen sink.
ReplyDeleteSo serene and restful on the eyes.
