Dawn


I was exhaused and didn't want to get out of bed at dawn but stumbled out to grab this shot from the lodge. I'm sure it would have been pretty down at the lake but I went back to bed for an extra snooze before starting the new day ... we are off to Pooncarie which is an old river port on the Darling River.

    Yhe sunrise was definitely worth stirring early. Sort of a two tone buttermilk sky.

I retire from the workforce this week and to celebrate have decided to retire my current blogs and start afresh with a single consolidated blog -  My Bright Field  - to record the delights of my new life adventure. Coolibah?

Is that a Coolibah tree beside the abandoned house? Every Australian knows about Coolibah trees because the bush ballad Waltzing Matilda is nigh on our unoffical national anthem but most of us live nowhere near the inland where they grow.
