Sweet Wayfaring

In each of the corners of the map there are cherubs representing the four winds.

In the vestibule of the Mitchell Library there is a reproduction of Tasman's Map in marble on the floor.  It's a beautiful thing.  I will show you a close up on one piece tomorrow.

It seems the country towns aren't the only places given to having Big Things.  This atlas is apparently the largest book of its kind ever published.
