Another bookshop


The Leonard French stained glass windows at the National Library are somewhat obscured these days by the book displays and a cafe on the other side of the foyer.

I love this bookshop, I imagine writing essays based on the book titles.  Just look at the ones you can see here -- Island Home, Behind the Lines, Comfort Zone, Barry Jones, The High Places, That Empty Feeling, Public Library -- I am sure I could make up something for each of those.

    The stain glass windows are just so beautiful. Pity to have them obscured.

    I love that bookshop too - and those stained glass windows.
    I really love that building - the beautiful symmetry and echoes of the Greek Parthenon.
    And of course those humungous tapestries in the foyer.

Big sky country 3

The Pinnacles, Broken Hill Clear blue sky is very dull!  But there is something of interest in the image.  These odd shaped mountains appear on the skyline just outside the city. I had planned otherwise for my closing sky today.  On a hill outside town there are wonderful sandstone sculptures which I saw the last time I was here. I planned to photograph them against the setting sun but we left our run too late, so you don’t get to see them until our return journey.
