Crafty 2

Like Berrima there is plenty of crafty stuff in Berry but being near the coast their items take on more of a seaside theme. What are you are meant to do with those bits of driftwood stringed together?

  1. I ask that about many things I see in bric-a-brac shops whether in Berry, Berrima or Leura.

  5. When we went to Port Macdonnell, the cafe (Periwinkles) there had those driftwood thingys.
They just had them hanging by the side of an internal door and sort of draped over a bench.
    They looked pretty good.

I never see any driftwood when I'm on the beach - where are they getting all this driftwood from?

  6. I've don't see driftwood at the beach either but perhaps they get up early to collect it ... in which case I will never see any.

Windy August

Tumbleweed It was August (known to be a windy month of the year) and it was blowing a gale.  Tumbleweeds hurtled across our path, pressed forward by the busy wind. While I was photographing the tumbleweed, I braved the icy blast to find a few more tiny flowers and fruits by the roadside.

Big sky country 3

The Pinnacles, Broken Hill Clear blue sky is very dull!  But there is something of interest in the image.  These odd shaped mountains appear on the skyline just outside the city. I had planned otherwise for my closing sky today.  On a hill outside town there are wonderful sandstone sculptures which I saw the last time I was here. I planned to photograph them against the setting sun but we left our run too late, so you don’t get to see them until our return journey.
