Sweet Wayfaring

This tunnel under the highway leading to the railway station is covered with "tags" but looks OK because of the original artwork done quite a few years ago now.  It is much more cheerful than before its makeover.

The roads are closed off for the march.  Maybe the weather will improve by then.

Broad Street was renamed Honour Avenue in 1918 and the gardens established to commemorate the local servicemen who saw action the first world war. A war memorial was added as the top of this path and unveiled in 1923.

Setting out from home it was clear that at last autumn was here. The local children will be happy because their park is again open with their new play equipment. It seems that they have moved away from fake turf to sand, and swings are back on the agenda.

Today is Anzac day, the day we remember the sacrifice of those who fought to give us our freedom. We were meeting with a cousin in the city so on the move early. The day was misty with just a few wreaths placed during the dawn service a few hours earlier. Unfortunately, this year we would not be able to attend the march held later in the morning. However over the next week or so let's what my camera I picked up on our trip to the city.

That's it for this trip.  We will be back this way again because Ian has to come down to the Uni every now and then and I get to have a beach holiday while he studies. Have a lovely Easter break with many blessings everyone.
