Flower carpet

The sand dunes around Roxby Downs were resplendent with wildflowers. These are known as poached egg daisies.   The late afternoon light was wonderful so more photos below.

  1. I wouldn't mind having a flower carpet like that in my backyard :)

  2. I love wildflowers. Desert ones are so exotic to me.

  3. I really love these photos - the grey weathered bit of tree, the red, red dirt, the poppy-up little flowers.
I love the tiniest touch of purple in the third shot and the shape of the tree in shot two.

  4. 4th shot ... whether up or down ...

    love it ...

  5. oh really a special series to honor this beautiful field of flowers..poached eggs..good name actually

  6. Such a fine collection of photos.
The red desert dirt with it's windswept ripples makes a wonderful background to the flowers.

  7. The reddish soil makes such great backgrouds!

  8. Great shots make mine of the same flower look ordinary.

The end

I retire from the workforce this week and to celebrate have decided to retire my current blogs and start afresh with a single consolidated blog - My Bright Field - to record the delights of my new life adventure.
If you are interested follow me over there.  I will still be Sweet Wayfaring and collecting Royal Hotels.  The delights I discover along the way will appear together with my gardens and towns where I live.
