Is that a Coolibah tree beside the abandoned house? Every Australian knows about Coolibah trees because the bush ballad Waltzing Matilda is nigh on our unoffical national anthem but most of us live nowhere near the inland where they grow. Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong, Under the shade of a Coolibah tree, And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled, You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me. Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda, You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me, And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me.
"To muse, to creep, to halt at will, to gaze ... such sweet wayfaring"
William Wordsworth
LOL.
ReplyDeleteYou are quite good with people - not only fences and posts :-)
Looking forward to seeing more of the Australian creatures you meet on your trips.
What I want to know is why he needs the gloves/hood or what ever he has covering his camera. To protect from glare?
ReplyDeleteWhat is he wearing?
ReplyDeleteCamouflage gloves and a bright orange jacket??
He was wholly intent on taking photographs of surfers and I gather the gloves/hood are to protect the camera from moisture and sea spray ... why they should be in camouflage colours is bit of a mystery though.
ReplyDeleteI guess it helps not to be too self-conscious when you are taking photos.
ReplyDeleteGood point AB.
ReplyDeleteI'm not so well-equipped when I take my photos...
